WHAT COULD I EXPECT DURING A VISIT TO THE CHIROPRACTOR?
Upon your first visit to the chiropractor expect to have a complete orthopedic and neurological exam of the body part or joint in question. Once a diagnosis is established and conveyed to the patient the treatment will commence after consent is given. At the Wellness Institute of Niagara, this treatment involves ART and/or joint manipulation and/or acupuncture. Chiropractic treatment tries to alleviate the cause of the problem by restoring proper joint mechanics. Improvements may be experienced after the first visit. Often the chiropractor will recommend home exercises and/or stretches as an extension of the treatment given.

Naturopathic Doctors are government regulated and licensed health care professionals. They are trained to assess and diagnose health issues and give individualized professional advice. Rather than just treating symptoms, a Naturopathic Doctor offers solutions for addressing health concerns and enhancing your level of health. Our Naturopathic Doctor will work with you to provide strategies to promote health, treatments that prevent illness and education to increase awareness about your own health.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A NATUROPATHIC DOCTOR AND A HOMEOPATHIC DOCTOR?
A Naturopathic Doctor has a broader scope of practice than a Homeopathic Doctor. Nutrition, lifestyle counseling, traditional Chinese medicine, botanical medicine and homeopathic medicine is all part of the Naturopathic Doctor's scope of practice, whereas the Homeopathic Doctor is only trained in the use of homeopathic remedies. A homeopathic remedy is composed of a natural ingredient, or combination of ingredients, in a preparation that makes it different from botanical remedies, vitamins or minerals.
