With the summer season in full swing, the residents of Niagara are blessed with fresh, local fruits and vegetables. On any given day you can travel to different cities across Niagara and find yourself strolling through a farmers market and indulge in the local life.
The team at WIN Health Solutions strive to be health and wellness advocates providing easy health solutions for our patients. On a personal level one of the things that I love to do in the summer is plant my seeds and grow my own food as well as visit farmers markets to buy in bulk to preserve for the colder months that are ahead. I have done this since a young age and hope to continue to harvest and preserve the best the seasons provide us.
Currently my garden is full of life – cucumbers, tomatoes of different varieties, sweet potatoes, kale, red romaine, romaine, garlic, red onions, leeks, banana peppers, sweet peppers, beans and of course herbs basil, cilantro and dill not to mention my favorite part of my garden ……..SUNFLOWERS!!
I wanted to share with you today a healthy way to start your day with a must-try smoothie recipe ...to help kick start your morning and to use ingredients that are grown close to home. The best part of smoothies is that you can create your own combination of fruits and veg to make sure your getting your daily dose.
